Peter was appointed Executive Chairman of RFG effective 7 November 2018, following his original appointment as a non-executive Director in September 2018, and election as Chairman of the Board in October 2018. He is an experienced executive and non-executive Director and executive, with an extensive background in telecommunications, media and corporate finance. He led the restructuring and merger of listed print, media and digital services provider PMP Limited as Managing Director from 2012 – 2017, and was Executive Chairman of Nylex Limited from 2004 – 2008. Peter was also a non-executive Director and Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee of Asciano Limited from 2007 – 2016, and spent four years on the Board of Australia’s second largest telecommunications carrier, Optus Communications between 1994 – 1998.
Peter was appointed as Chief Financial Officer in February 2012 after joining RFG in early 2009 as Divisional Financial Controller. Prior to joining RFG, Peter worked with KPMG where he managed the Assurance and Advisory Division. Peter has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia since 2004.
Matt returned to RFG as Head of Growth in early 2020. He was promoted to the position of Head of Retail in November this year, and now leads IconicCo, the Company’s internal division which manages the Group’s retail franchise networks. He brings over 15 years’ experience across a variety of major brands and organisations including Cadbury Schweppes, Asahi, RFG and, more recently, Sonofi Consumer Healthcare. Matt has held a number of senior commercial roles including Head of Sales, Head of Trade Marketing, Managing Director – Brumby’s Bakery, and General Manager – Commercial Partnerships & Planning.
Damian has over 30 years’ experience with McDonald’s, starting as a crew member at age 15 and going on to work at McDonald’s Australia and the USA, before leaving as VP Operations for McDonald’s Korea. Damian was part of the turnaround team tasked with moving McDonald’s Korea into growth, and has a passion for customer experience, growing franchisee sales and using simple, robust systems and processes to drive bottom line profits at the retail level.
Mark joined RFG as Corporate Counsel in July 2004, having previously represented the Company in private practice since 1999. He has since developed his career within RFG’s operations and legal departments, holding positions including Deputy Chief Operating Officer, Chief Legal Officer and Chief Operating Officer. Mark has held the position as RFG’s Company Secretary since the Company Listed in June 2006. Mark holds a Bachelor of Laws and is a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland.
Nicola was appointed Head of Growth in early 2021. She brings over 20 years’ experience across a variety of major brands in senior operational and strategic roles. A large part of her experience has been at Bunnings, finishing there as national Business Improvement Manager covering both small and large scale cross-functional project and initiative rollouts that impacted internal culture, operations, customer, cost reduction and productivity improvement. Other brands include Telstra, Coles and, more recently, Tabcorp as General Manager for both NSW Lotteries and Golden Casket.
